Happy December! The sun is shining (behind the clouds), the air is warmer(ish); today is a wonderful start to the month! (We’ll ignore yesterday)
One of the awesome things about heated high tunnels is that flowers will bloom at all times of the year. There are even a few gladioli getting ready to bloom!
For a big, beautiful bouquet though, I recommend daikon. The purple is just gor-geous and the white brings a nice contrast.
(If you want to be weird though, you could totally eat your food instead of playing with it. Daikon are good in salads, soups, stir fries, and the like).
This poor little radish got disturbed by yesterday’s rain. Out of the kindness of my heart, I rescued it for breakfast. It was soo adorable with the short-I’m-growing-in-the-cold leaves.

- Homemade Applesauce (It is ridiculous how many applesauce recipes call for sugar! Unless you’re only using super tart apples – like crabapple tart – you don’t need sugar in applesauce. Water and apples. That’s it. Spices optional)
Happy Eating!
