Visions of flowers… but no sugarplums
Did you know that this week was CSA Week?
We try to post about once a month with farm happenings, current or past. So pull up a mouse or a touch screen, and enjoy!
The high tunnel is empty!!
And no, not the one destined for tomatoes. It’s another empty tunnel.v
The coldest part of winter is when we start prepping plants for you. In February, we have thousands of baby plants that embody all of our gardening dreams. From flowers to vegetables to baby fig trees, the young plants are all there. You have been telling us you want some more interesting perennials, and here they come!
I know it doesn’t seem like spring is close – it’s still too dark.
Although temperature-wise it does not feel like February (I am NOT complaining Mother Nature, it is just a simple, non-judgmental observation).
I’m going to be honest, this email isn’t up to my usual standards. My brain just isn’t braining well right now.
It seems like we have a lot of volunteers right now.
Especially baby bok choy. There is a lot of baby bok choy in the lettuce right now.
Do you ever do something because, why not? For fun, we planted some gladiolus bulbs in one of the heated tunnels.
We’re going to try planting early snapdragons in an unheated tunnel this year.
If you remember from a months-ago email,
We are in search of a detail-oriented person with some experience driving for our farm. The successful candidate will be able to drive a variety of the business vehicles, from a van to a small box truck.
